Cooking Classes

One of the great benefits of doing frequent cooking classes is meeting new people! And typically those new customers find other groups of friends to gather for more cooking classes! We keep the environment relaxing, fun and as interactive as you want it to be.

Celebrating the upcoming holiday, birthdays, a particular cuisine or ingredient and frequently nothing at all! It’s a great opportunity to gather with friends and have some fun in the kitchen.

Once the menu has been decided, we talk about what cooking utensils will be needed. If the hostess doesn’t have something, we will bring ours to the class or suggest a good substitute. We bring the necessary ingredients and the group supplies their own beverages – we serve the meal and do all the clean up! Our goal is to teach some techniques, serve a wonderful meal and have a ton of fun!

DSC_7736Cooking classes typically range from 6 to 12 guests. However, we have had as few as four guests and as many as 70 guests and everything in between! Class size and content may depend on the venue so please inquire what’s possible as we are very adaptable!

Personal Chef

DSC_7741When Olivea was little we entertained a lot. From Easter egg hunts to back-to-school parties, I love working with a hostess and planning a theme and a party menu. As with cooking classes, I do all the shopping and bring the food to your kitchen space.

DSC_7741Whether its a casual grill out -  grilled romaine lettuce, grilled cedar plank salmon and grilled peaches with homemade ice cream, or a Cinco de Mayo party -  Ceviche, smoked chicken enchiladas and chipotle mushrooms with flan as dessert, we will pick a fun and tasty menu that’s sure to please for any size party.

I can accommodate cocktail parties hosting up to 100 guests and will assist in the planning of the menu. On the day of the event, I will head to your location and do the food preparation. Once the guests are served, DSC_7741I do all the culinary clean up which allows the hostess to relax and enjoy her guests and wake up to a clean kitchen the next day! I am there when the guests start to arrive and can answer any questions regarding the ingredients used and the dishes served.

DSC_7759I believe in buying local and cooking seasonally and encourage menu planning around the seasons to celebrate food at the peak of flavor.

Kids Cooking Classes

My daughter, Olivea, has been to a number of cooking classes with me and has cooked with me all her life. One time we watched Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution and she was shocked by what was in common fast food for kids and was committed to healthy food ever since. She has decided she wants to offer healthy cooking classes with kids where she is the lead and has accepted me as her assistant in these classes!

The kids cooking classes are done in the same way as our regular cooking classes but with a kid friendly spin to them. We recently made Spring rolls, Asian ravioli in a red curry coconut sauce and finished with Nutella wonton cookies. The kids had so much fun and were able to make their parents a meal after the class. I work closely with the parents when setting the menu and identify food allergies as part of the process. Another benefit is that when kids assist in the preparation of the food in class, it also encourages them to try new foods
